TEXAS Temerlin McClain, Irving, hired print business managers Caryl Johnson and Laura Robinson. Johnson formerly worked for Brierley & Partners, Dallas, while Robinson was a senior traffic manager at Witherspoon & Associates, Fort Worth. Also brought aboard were a team of project managers: Carla Atwal for the Nationwide Insurance account, Doug Davis for Paramount Parks and Just My Size, Donna Johnson for GTE, Lori Johnson for American Direct, Jennifer Pelton for NationsBank and Christi Romeo for the Bell Textron business. Inside Houston magazine named Corina Tiemeyer as its new publisher. Tiemeyer recently served as executive operating officer for the publication in Houston. Carla Kienast has joined the staff of Witherspoon & Associates, Fort Worth, as vice president of investor relation services. Kienast, who has 15 years experience in corporate and financial communications for companies like Haggar Clothing and Amtech, was operating her own Dallas-based firm, Carla Kienast Consulting. Keenan Glass was named account manager at MPI Label Systems, Houston, after serving at Houston Tape and Label. Gilbreath Communications, Houston, hired account executive Crystal Brown from Knudson & Associates, also Houston. Shawn Gustafson joined Adcetera Design Studio, Houston, as a copywriter. Gustafson was previously a marketing assistant at The Lentz Group in Houston. DSS Research in Arlington tapped Kirk Black as manager of analytical services. Black will be based in San Antonio, according to the firm. He held a similar post in the quality improvement department of Harris Methodist Health, Fort Worth. Dennis Greenia, former president of Atlanta-based The Merrill Group, has become senior vice president of marketing at Taco Cabana in San Antonio. Greenia also held previous executive positions with Burger King and Coca-Cola. The Wittman Group in Dallas promoted Eric Hensen to media manager. Hensen joined the Wittman Group in 1996. Vollmer Public Relations, based in Houston, promoted senior account executive Judy Haverson to account supervisor and advanced assistant account executives Wendy Hagan and Terry Balluck to account executive posts. Haverson supervises media relations for The Sabre Group. Hagan supports activities for Denny's restaurants and the Wings Over Houston Airshow Festival. Balluck is assigned to the agency's Pennzoil and the Houston Association of Realtors accounts. Makos Advertising, Austin, added Heather Galyon as account executive. Galyon, who has handled marketing and design assignments for various clients in New York, previously served as an intern at Makos. Cordie Ewing has signed with KRBE-FM as account executive. Ewing brings more than 19 years of local radio experience to the Houston radio station. Belo Corp., Dallas, promoted Dale Peskin to the newly created position of vice president of interactive media for the company's publishing division. In addition, Flory Bramnick was elevated to a similar post in charge of the company's broadcast division. Peskin was previously an assistant managing editor at The Dallas Morning News, while Bramnick moved up from a post as director of financial analysis and administration at Belo. Rita Foster Archer has joined Michael & Partners, Dallas, as vice president of public relations. Archer formerly held vice president positions with The Hart Agency and Byrne Johnson, both of Dallas. She also held posts at the Houston offices of Tracy-Locke and Bozell Public Relations. Her responsibilities include managing the Hydrox-C skin care account at Michael & Partners. Freed Advertising, Houston, has hired Sarah Parsons as account supervisor for the American Residential Services and Auchan Hypermarket accounts. Parsons was formerly a senior account executive at the now closed Houston office of Lois/EJL.
