TEXAS Micrografx in Richardson promoted Chesley Beaver to senior international marketing communications manager and Georgette Smith to associate creative project manager. A new domestic marketing group at the company has enlisted Jessica Taylor as graphic art specialist and Debra Reed as marketing coordinator. Dave Laird and David Slack have been added at Dallas post shop charlieuniformtango to head the visual graphics operation. Both were at Video Post in Dallas prior to joining the shop. TBWA/Chiat Day's New York office elevated Cindy Clements to local broadcast director in its Dallas office. The former assistant director has been with the agency for nine years. Senior account executive Jennifer Friedmann and account executive Christie Kaluza are new at Vollmer Public Relations, Houston. Friedmann was assigned national consumer relations work for the Pennzoil Products, Minute Maid and Drypers accounts, while Kaluza will be supporting work for clients Corestaff, Conoco and the American Heart Association. Temerlin McClain has promoted five staff members and hired three new employees. Those with new titles are senior art director Cindy Freckman, media planner Kirstin Cannon, copywriter Carole Hurst, art director Han Kim and account executive Maggie Pickering. The agency tapped art director Virgil Adams from W.B. Doner, Detroit; proofreader Douglas Russell from Texas Press Clippings, Dallas; and account executive Mark Yee, formerly of DDB Needham Dallas. TFA Communications, Dallas, hired vice president Lynn Parks and account supervisor Dara Quackenbush. It assigned new business development duties to Curtis Young. Metro Networks, Houston, appointed Marco Camacho as vice president of strategic planning. He recently served as vice president and general manager of five El Dorado Communications-owned stations in Houston. Austin agency r.j. kolar tapped production manager Jason Bruzzone, assistant systems manager and production artist Stephen Alford and multimedia manager Jerry McNeal. A round of promotions at Publicis/Bloom, Dallas, resulted in new titles for some staffers. They are account executive Ashley Fick, senior account executive Keith Barnes, account executive Katharine Morelock, buying manager Linda Pittman, broadcast supervisor Megan Melle, broadcast negotiator Samantha Panko, associate negotiator Stacy Wright and planner Raymond Douglas. In addition, the agency gave senior principal titles to creative director Howard Goldthwaite and group media director Susan Eberhart, and assigned principal status to account supervisors Susan Scott and Marie Swisher. Jake Yarbrough has been advanced to account supervisor at Stuart Bacon, Fort Worth. Yarbrough came to the agency last December from Paul Lazzaro & Associates, also in Fort Worth. Witherspoon & Associates, Fort Worth, hired Becke Cleavinger as account coordinator. A recent graduate of the University of North Texas in Denton, she will work on accounts for the Osteopathic Health System of Texas, TCU Florist, Roger Williams Chrysler/Plymouth/ Dodge and Union Pacific Resources Group. ARKANSAS Bill Jennings has been named senior art director at Stone & Ward, Little Rock. He has held senior art director and creative director positions at other Little Rock agencies and also formerly managed his own creative shop. Lili Palmer and Kay Medlin have rejoined the media department at Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods, Little Rock. Palmer, who worked at CJRW from 1989-1991 and came from Frank J. Wills Co., has been named media specialist. Media planner and buyer Medlin arrived from Combs & Co. and had been at CJRW from 1989-1996. LOUISIANA Val McKay joined Logan Marketing & Communications as production manager. She previously served as senior print production manager for Wunderman Cato Johnson/Young & Rubicam, Chicago. Elisabeth Wilson has been promoted from account supervisor to vice president of account services at a.k.a. Advertising/Trinity Design, Lafayette. She will maintain oversight of the agency's operations.
