The Nelson Group, Fort Worth, hired Ben Robinson as creative director. He held the same post at Dallas shop Madden Marketing & Design Group.
Account executive Richard Cuellar and creative director Tim Dillard have recently arrived at Freed Advertising, Stafford. Prior to joining Freed, Cuellar was an account executive with Goswick Advertising in Houston and an automotive account executive with The Houston Post, while Dillard was at The Cohen Group, also in Houston.
Meyer & Johnson, Dallas, recently added copywriter Troy Jones and art director Kevin Puterbaugh. Jones arrived from Gleason Calise Associates, Dallas, while Puterbaugh has experience at Dallas shops Tracy-Locke (now TLPartnership) and Publicis/Bloom.
Harwood Marketing Group, Dallas, added creative services coordinator Julie Rains and assistant account executive Monica Escobar to its staff. Rains was traffic manager at JWT Specialized Communications, Dallas, while Escobar is a recent graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.
Madden Marketing & Design Group, Dallas, appointed Lisa Poole as creative director. She was associate creative director for Dallas’ Harwood Marketing Group, where she handled clients like Kimberly-Clark and Metz Baking Co.
Temerlin McClain, Irving, hired associate creative director Pama Monfries for its American Airlines, GTE, Subaru of America and NationsBank accounts; senior account executive Dawn Howe to handle assignments for Sabre and American Airlines; public relations copywriter Duane Jones for several accounts including Subaru and NationsCredit; plus account executive Darren Waxman and account supervisor Pam Haynie for the agency’s direct services unit. Promoted at Temerlin recently were media supervisors Samantha McVey and Sylvia Molina, and media planners Tricia Nichols and Johnathan Daake.
Ashley Lemariƒ was named director of account services at Makos Advertising, Marketing & Design, Austin. She was the founding principal of Communiquƒ of Aspen, Colo., and was involved in sports marketing.
Austin shop T3 brought in six new employees: art director Brian De Los Santos and traffic director Julie Karp, both formerly of SicolaMartin in Austin; technical writer Jamieson Mackie, who was managing editor of Compaq Enterprise magazine while at PCI in Austin; designer Clark Bystrom, recently of Squires & Co., Dallas; and proofreader Brendan Merithew, a recent graduate.
Dallas agency AvreaFoster hired production manager Cathy Schneider and account executive Laura Wiswell. Schneider’s 20 years’ experience includes work at Maison Blanche in Baton Rouge, La., while Wiswell has worked for Irving agency Colin Shubitz Advertising & Design, Plano-based J.C. Penney and Meyer & Johnson, Dallas.
Fogarty Klein & Partners, Houston, promoted three staff members. Moving up are account supervisor Alycia Woods, formerly senior account executive; broadcast producer Laurie Mitchell, formerly an associate producer role and associate broadcast producer Jin Chung, who was formerly broadcast traffic manager.
Joe Ownbey was named account services director at the Bagwell Agency, Dallas. Ownbey, who will oversee new business and internal strategies, previously operated his own commercial photography business in Oklahoma City.
Hadeler Law Media Management in Dallas promoted David Young from assistant media planner to media planner while hiring Leslie Czarnecky for Young’s prior role. Young will be responsible for the Grand Casino Avoyelles and Ameritas Life Insurance accounts. Czarnecky, a former intern at Hadeler Law, will work on the Big A Auto Parts, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Texas, Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, Park Place Dealerships in the Dallas area and statewide Subway accounts.
The Hart Agency has hired senior account manager Shawn Shepherd for its Dallas office and account executive Elizabeth Bashara for the firm’s New York location. Shepherd brings 15 years experience in communications, including work as a reporter and in university academic posts. Bashara has been involved in planning special projects for the National Olympic Festival, the U.S. Open tennis tournament and theatrical premieres on Broadway.
Fellers & Co. made six new hires at its Oklahoma City office: account supervisor Randy Cox, production manager Toni Griswold, public relations manager Beth Brigham, production artists Joan Friberg and Casey Chesnutt, and traffic manager Dana McHenry. Promoted to art director at the agency was Casey Twenter.
Phillip Baker is the new advertising director for Premier Parks in Oklahoma City. He was director of marketing for Sam’s Town Casino in Kansas City, Mo.
