Miller to Cut About 200 Jobs

CHICAGO Miller Brewing Co. will undergo a restructuring of its corporate staff, resulting in the reduction of approximately 200 positions and a strategic realignment of many others, company officials said today.

“This redesign is not just about a staffing reduction but also about multiple role and job changes,” said the Milwaukee brewer’s president and CEO, Norman Adami, in a statement.

The new structure is designed to align better with turnaround strategies that require new processes and employees with the skills to execute those strategies. The restructuring will also create a smaller, more focused corporate structure in line with the realities of Miller’s business performance over the past several years. It was not immediately known how the marketing department will be affected.

The company will offer severance benefits, and outplacement services will be available to employees affected by the changes. The reductions primarily involve positions in Miller’s Milwaukee-based corporate offices and will be effective in September.
