Mediaedge:cia Completes Global Management Restructuring

NEW YORK — WPP’s Mediaedge:cia has completed the formation of its global management structure, following the merger between Tempus Group’s CIA Medianetwork and The Media Edge which began in November 2001.

The regional management structure in North America, Asia Pacific and Latin America is now confirmed, with Steve Lanzano heading-up North America, Mark Austin Asia Pacific, and Latin America continuing with its current management of David Byles and Bill Colantuono. In Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Dominic Grainger, previously COO of CIA Worldwide, will take on the role of Managing Director, supported by Hakan Gustavson as COO/CFO. Mainardo de Nardis will take on the additional role of Chairman of EMEA.

As previously reported, the group is co-managed by Charles Courtier, Worldwide Executive Chairman, and Mainardo de Nardis, Worldwide Chief Executive Officer, both reporting to WPP. Beth Gordon continues in her role as Chairman of Global MindShare Edge, the WPP holding which controls all group interests in media communication services.

Tom Handy takes on the role of CFO of Mediaedge:cia Worldwide, building on his previous responsibility in this role for The Media Edge.

Mediaedge:cia will continue to have dedicated regional management for Asia Pacific, EMEA, Latin America and North America. Central Services – including Worldwide Client Services, Marketing, People and Culture, Digital, MediaLab, 36T, IT, Business Development, Legal and Finance – will operate on a global basis, providing support to all regions, countries, and clients.

The company also said that Hans Germeraad, CEO, EMEA, has decided to leave Mediaedge:cia.
