McCann-Erickson Lands Creative for Dimetapp, Anbesol

NEW YORK–McCann-Erickson has landed creative duties and Universal McCann has won media planning duties on Dimetapp and Anbesol, both owned by the Whitehall-Robins Health division of American Home Products. Billings were undisclosed but are estimated at between $15-20 million combined. The win comes after a review of undisclosed shops.

Young & Rubicam was the incumbent on Dimetapp and did not defend. Grey Worldwide was the Anbesol incumbent and resigned the account when the client awarded it the Advil account.

McCann’s relationship with American Home Products dates to 1937 and includes assignments in a dozen countries around the world.

Media buying is handled by the Madison, N.J.-based client.
