Madonna, Missy Wear Gap Their Way

Leaders from Glossier, Shopify, Mastercard and more will take the stage at Brandweek to share what strategies set them apart and how they incorporate the most valued emerging trends. Register to join us this September 23–26 in Phoenix, Arizona.

NEW YORK Madonna knows how to accessorize. In a new campaign breaking today for Gap, the Material Mom dresses up her low-rise cropped cords and a ribbed white tank top with more than $5 million in diamond jewelry from Neil Lane.

Not to be outdone, her TV commercial and print cohort, Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliot, sports a Gap T emblazoned with an airbrushed self-portrait and detailed low-rise boot cut cords.

“We wanted to find people who had a strong energy and strong sense of style,” said Trey Laird, president and creative director at Laird + Partners, the New York shop responsible for the effort.
