NEW YORK Lowe in New York is completing its last work for Verizon Communications and will no longer work for the client as of Jan. 31, a client representative said on Monday.

Interpublic Group’s Lowe has seen its ad duties on the brand erode since October, when Verizon hired New York startup McGarry Bowen to handle “corporate brand and image advertising.” Since then, McGarry Bowen has launched a corporate-image effort (Adweek, Jan. 6) and Lowe has worked on ideas for “product” ads, such as for Verizon DSL.
