Joan Wilson, who oversaw two failed reviews as director of the California Lottery, has been reassigned to an unspecified position in state government, a lottery rep said last week. The rep said the shift was not prompted by dissatisfaction with Wilson’s performance but that it was instead “common practice in state government.” Until the governor appoints a new lottery director, chief deputy director Dennis Sequeira will lead the operation. The lottery will likely launch a review in the fall, the rep said.
