Lockheed Martin Casts Wide Net In Search of Shop

Midwest agencies are among those that have received proposal requests from defense contractor Lockheed Martin, sources said.

The Bethesda, Md.-based company put its $15-20 million business into review earlier this month and split with incumbent DDB New York. DDB officials cited “irreconcilable creative differences” in their decision not to participate in the review.

The company, formerly Martin Marietta Corp., wants an agency with global capabilities. The agency will work with the company’s individual business units.

Lockheed Martin’s most recent campaign broke in March 2000 with TV spots that showed Lockheed employees talking about their jobs. That campaign also had a print component.
