CHICAGO The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States today shared complaints against its members’ ads with the general public in an effort to be more open about its self-regulatory process.

A report issued by the council covers 2004, and includes complaints (mostly from the group’s own members) about the content or placement of 15 ads and the action taken regarding those complaints. The report is the first such public issuance of the council about its self-regulatory practices.
