This week’s Off the Street Club annual holiday lunch hosted by J. Walter Thompson, which coincides with the West Side haven’s 100th anniversary, is expected to attract 1,200 local ad executives for a program that officials promise will once again pack an emotional punch.
Using the Chicago charity’s “Hope has a home” theme, JWT officials produced a video, an annual tradition for the host agency, that highlights the club’s 100 years of service to the girls and boys of the underprivileged West Side neighborhood where it is located.
One hundred decorative candles created by ad benefactors and intended to portray the spirit of the organization will be used as centerpieces on the dining tables and later be donated for the charity.
The Off the Street Club is the Chicago ad community’s pet charity and each year an agency hosts the event. Last year’s luncheon, sponsored by Euro RSCG Tatham, raised about $336,000.
