Kirk Kelley is the new creative director at the commercial animation production facility Laika/house (nee Vinton Studios). Kelley joined the Portland, Ore., studio in 1995 and rose to supervising director of its long-running M&Ms campaign, for which Vinton completed more than 50 spots. He also has directed commercials for Honda, Energizer, Nestle, Chili’s, Arby’s and Hostess. In addition, Kelley has made award-winning short films, such as the stop-motion and computer-generated imagery combination Dia de los Muertos, and directed episodes of the animated series The PJs.
