The shot, part of a 60-second McDonald’s ad from Leo Burnett Co. that could be this year’s Super Bowl highlight, has the two sparring on the court in what would be the most incredible game of H-O-R-S-E imagineable. The 60-second spot follows a 30-second spot during the pre-game hoopla where Bird challenges Jordan to a game for his McDonald’s lunch. As the two start shooting, Jordan tells the viewer to come back later, ‘this may take awhile.’
The ad is quite a departure for McDonald’s, which has been focusing on product-specific promotions recently. Shot by Joe Pytka, the ad is more reminiscent of Nike than traditional McDonald’s.
