Job Satisfaction

What are the most important criteria for job satisfaction? Well, that depends on whom you’re talking about, according to a poll of 500-plus respondents conducted last month by Portland, Ore.-based The Career Exposure Network on its job sites, MBACareers.com, CareerWomen.com and DiversitySearch.com. “We’ve found that women aren’t satisfied with their current job because of lack of ‘fit’ with [the] company, while M.B.A.s are looking elsewhere due to lack of career-advancement opportunities,” said JillXan Donnelly, the network’s president. “Diversity employees, however, state that their working relationship with their boss is the most significant reason for lack of satisfaction in the workplace.” —Heidi Jacobs
