JetBlue, ‘NYT’ Prep In-Flight Video Mag

NEW YORK JetBlue Airways and The New York Times plan to launch “Times on Air,” an exclusive in-flight video magazine.

The video magazine will feature content from the newspaper’s TimesTalks events, which feature interviews of newsmakers and cultural leaders by Times’ journalists, as well as content from the Times’ Web site, NYTimes.com.

The content, which will be updated each month, will be available only on JetBlue flights. The JetBlue Card from American Express is presenting the program.

The first two programs of “Times on Air” will feature interviews with celebrities such as Emmy Award-winning comedian Larry David, actor Forest Whitaker and Brian Williams, the anchor and managing editor of the NBC Nightly News. A segment with Times food columnist Mark Bittman—also known as “The Minimalist”—has the writer preparing risotto with famed chef Mario Batali. Other segments include highlights from fashion designer Marc Jacobs’ fall 2007 collection and reviews of Apple’s new TV streaming media box and Microsoft’s Ultra-Mobile PC.

Much of the content shown on “Times on Air” will also be available to visitors of the program’s Web site, www.jetblue.com/timesonair.
