Intel Taps McCann for $300 Mil. Business

LOS ANGELES Intel has awarded its global creative and media business to Interpublic Group’s McCann WorldGroup, the company said.

Estimated billings are $300 million.

The selection had been expected [Adweek Online, March 7].

McCann prevailed over a WPP Group team led by Berlin Cameron/Red Cell and Young & Rubicam, and an Omnicom Group team headed by DDB.

“The Intel brand must consistently evolve in order to address new market opportunities,” said Eric Kim, vp and co-director of Intel’s sales and marketing group, in a statement.
