ATLANTA—Sawyer Riley Compton’s first work forCallaway breaks this week. The independent Atlanta shop has developed a 30-second television spot touting the Pine Mountain, Ga., resort’s “Fantasy in Lights” holiday event. Newspaper ads will appear in area dailies including The Atlanta Journal and Constitution.

Toyota Cuts Scion Media Contest to 4

LOS ANGELES—Toyota’s soon-to-be-launched car model aimed at young drivers, the Scion, is the subject of an ongoing media review being conducted by Albert & Associates of Redondo Beach, Calif. Sources said the review has been narrowed to four undisclosed contenders that have experience reaching young audiences with nontraditional media approaches including viral marketing. A Scion campaign created by Attik of San Francisco is expected to break next spring prior to the California launch of the car in June. The model will be introduced nationally one year later.

Sainsbury Starts Review for Supermarkets

BOSTON—Sainsbury is launching a review for the$3-5 million ad account of sister supermarket chains Shaw’s and Star Market, hiring Pile and Co. of Boston to oversee the search, a client representative said. Allen & Gerritsen in Watertown, Mass., will defend.

Carton Donofrio Adds Media, Creative Execs

ATLANTA—Carton Donofrio Partners has named Carole Reuschle vice president, director of media service. Reuschle was formerly vice president, director of media planning at Doner Direct in Baltimore. The agency has also tapped Bill Senge as vice president, associate creative director. Senge joins the Baltimore shop from Temerlin McClain in Irving, Texas.

Nasuti & Hinkle Wins Hershey Resorts Work

ATLANTA—Hershey Resorts has selected Nasuti & Hinkle to handle meetings and conventions advertising for the Hotel Hershey and The Hershey Lodge and Convention Center, following a review. The Silver Spring, Md., shop bested The Campbell Group of Baltimore, Meridian Advertising in Virginia Beach, Va., and Dana Communications of Hopewell, N.J. Billings are undisclosed. Hershey Resorts is a division of Hershey Entertainment and Resorts in Hershey, Pa. The Glickman Group in Charlottesville, Va., will handle public relations.

7 Semifinalists Compete for Timex

BOSTON—Seven semifinalists named last week by Timex in the review for its estimated $5-10 million advertising account will make capabilities presentations to the client in the next two weeks. Timex, which split with Fallon, Minneapolis, in September, is looking to be cast as a purveyor of cultural icons, rather than a marketer of fashion accessories, sources said. Pitching areModernista!, Boston; Mullen, Wenham, Mass.; and the New York offices of Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos; Bartle Bogle Hegarty; Berlin Cameron/Red Cell; Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners; and Margeotes Fertitta + Partners. A cut to three agencies comes in mid-November. Pile and Co., Boston, is overseeing the process.
