Klug Takes Top Ford Marketing Post

DETROIT—Jan Klug, marketing communications manager for Ford Motor Co.’s Ford division, was named to the automaker’s top marketing post. Klug had been one of the top candidates for vice president of global marketing [Adweek Online, Feb. 20]. She replaces Jim Schroer, who resigned last week to take the top marketing position at DaimlerChrysler. Klug will report to Bob Rewey, group vice president, global consumer services and North America.

Disney, Coke Team Up for New Drink Line

NEW YORK—Coca-Cola and Walt Disney Co. will market children’s juice, milk and water drinks carrying the Disney name, under a new agreement. The product lines, the first of which will come out of Coke’s Minute Maid division this year, will feature popular Disney characters. Leo Burnett in Chicago, which creates advertising for both Minute Maid and Disney, is a likely candidate to handle the advertising for the new line, sources said.

Bally’s Looks West for New Shop

LOS ANGELES—Bally Fitness Center awarded its advertising account to Colby Effler & Partners after a review of undisclosed agencies. Billings were not disclosed, but sources said the budget was estimated at $25-30 million.

KS&M Lands CitySearch Media Account

CHICAGO—Kelly Scott & Madison recently won the $4 million media account for Ticketmaster’s online business CitySearch. The Chicago media shop will handle an entire media marketing campaign for CitySearch, said Joni Williams, KSM’s vice president of new business development. CitySearch spent $2 million on marketing in January through October of 2000, according to Competitive Media Reporting.

Havas to Realign Jordan McGrath Under Arnold

BOSTON—Havas Advertising will realign its Jordan McGrath Case & Partners/Euro RSCG agency to become an independent unit of Arnold Worldwide. The New York agency previously reported into Havas through the Euro RSCG Worldwide network. The move is expected to lead to account shifts with other Euro shops, which include Euro RSCG Tatham in Chicago, possibly benefiting.

CK Promotes Casey, Bednar

CHICAGO—Veteran Cramer-Krasselt creative chief Neil Casey has taken the new post of executive vice president of business development at the shop’s Milwaukee office. Mike Bednar was named senior vice president and executive creative director, taking over day to day creative duties from Casey.

Miller Moves Media Buying to MediaVest USA

CHICAGO—Miller Brewing Co. is shifting its $90 million network media buying account from Starcom MediaVest Group’s Starcom USA unit here to SMG’s MediaVest USA unit to “improve efficiencies,” according to a Miller representative. Starcom will continue to handle Miller’s local and Hispanic media buying and all media planning, the representative from the Milwaukee brewer said.
