DALLAS–First Madison Communications has won a contract to develop a marketing campaign for The Houston-based client makes document management software. Billings were undisclosed. First Madison Communications in Austin, Texas, will develop the Web site, a tutorial and a 60-second television commercial.
Swedish Shop Acquires Texas Agency
DALLAS–Swedish Internet advertising and management specialist Adera AB has acquired Blake Agency. Now known as Adera Inc., the nine-person Dallas shop plans to expand to 25 staffers due to growth in the high-tech sector it services. Stockholm-based Adera specializes in marketing communications, consulting and graphic design.
Perficient Hires Makos for Marketing
DALLAS–Makos has added Perficient, an Internet professional services company that went public earlier this year, to its client roster. The Austin, Texas, shop will handle marketing duties for a national recruiting campaign, beginning with new collateral and a recruitment brochure. Perficient provides teams of information technology professionals to install software, primarily with Internet companies.
Sportswear Site Selects 3 Finalists
LOS ANGELES– is looking for its first agency to promote a Web site it plans to launch in November. The e-commerce site will sell about 35 brands of women’s sports and fitness apparel. The company’s target market is 25- to 39-year-old women. The agency selected may handle both off- and online duties, or separate shops may be selected for each. Finalists are Ground Zero, Marina del Rey, Calif.; GSD&M, Austin, Texas; and Amazon, San Francisco. A decision is expected in mid-October.
Thompson Breaks Anti-Porn Ads in Memphis
ATLANTA–Citizens for Community Values, a nonprofit organization seeking to have anti-pornography laws more strictly enforced, will begin airing three 30-second television commercials today on Memphis, Tenn., broadcast stations. The TV spots urge adults to “warn your kids about the danger of pornography.” Thompson & Company of Memphis produced the advertising on a pro bono basis.
Tweed Advertising Wins Fla. County Tourism
ATLANTA–Tweed Advertising has been named agency of record for the newly formed Tourism Alliance of
Collier County. The alliance is the result of the merger of two Florida destination accounts, Naples and Marco Island & The Everglades. The latter had been the Fort Myers, Fla., shop’s account for three years, while the former was held by Shepard, Lobe, Costa in Miami. The two agencies competed for the alliance, which is valued at more than $1 million since the merger.
