Del Rivero Makes Disney’s Hispanic Short List
ATLANTA-Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., has narrowed its search for an advertising agency to promote its Florida theme parks to the U.S. Hispanic market, according to sources. Sources identified del Rivero Messianu in Coral Gables, Fla.; Bromley, Aguilar & Associates, San Antonio; and Leo Burnett Hispanic in Chicago as the three finalists. Executives at each agency declined comment. Client officials confirmed the account review last month but had not returned calls at press time to discuss the cut. Sources expect the agencies to complete final presentations, including speculative creative work, in late October.
Humana Selects Houston’s Lopez Negrete
DALLAS-Mulling over an agency decision since June, managed care company Humana has chosen Lopez Negrete Communications in Houston for its $1-2 million Hispanic marketing assignments. Lopez Negrete defeated Miami agencies Accentmarketing, del Rivero Messianu and IAC Advertising, as well as one undisclosed shop, for the account. Humana is based in Louisville, Ky.
Maris Lands Computer, Insurance Accounts
ATLANTA-Maris, West & Baker in Jackson, Miss., pulled in two national accounts worth about $1 million combined. Software firm Venture SystemSource in Ridgeland, Miss., tapped Maris, West & Baker without a review to handle trade print advertising and direct marketing assignments. Old Republic National Title Insurance Co. in Minneapolis chose MW&B to handle several projects.
CFW Wireless Moves to Cadmus Marketing
ATLANTA-CFW Wireless, resigned this summer by The Packett Group in Roanoke, Va. [Adweek, Sept. 8], has placed its estimated $1 million advertising account with Cadmus Marketing Group in Richmond, Va. The agency’s initial assignment will be to help launch CFW’s Intelos, a new digital wireless telephone service.

ATLANTA-Williams Whittle Associates in Alexandria, Va., gained the estimated $1 million packaged-goods account of HealthRite in Owings Mill, Md. WWA also acquired American Resale of Gaithersburg, Md., as a client. Billings were undisclosed. . .Courtney & Watson in Miami Beach, Fla., added Digital City South Florida, Motorola Pagers/Latin America and Nemo Sobe to its client list. Total billings are estimated at $4-5 million. . .Hospitality specialist Fareed & Co. in Norfolk, Va., won several new clients with combined billings of about $2 million, including Boar’s Head Inn in Charlottesville, Va., previously handled by Fitzgerald & Co., Atlanta; Skytop Lodge in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains; and The Latham Hotel in Washington, D.C.
