TN Media Restructures Under Drexler
NEW YORK–TN Media here, a division of True North Communications, has named Mike Drexler, former president of the BJK&E Media Group, chairman, while Fred Wray will continue as president. The move follows the acquisition of Bozell, Jacobs, Kenyon & Eckhardt here by TN. Sources said TN Media will have two independently operated sub-units, TN Media Bozell and TN Media FCB, to reflect TN’s two agency networks: Bozell Worldwide and FCB.
3 Seagram’s Brands Enter Review
NEW YORK–Seagram Americas has placed three brands into review: 7 Crown Whiskey, Seagram’s Gin and VO Canadian Whiskey, said client representative Bevin Gove. The incumbent is Ogilvy & Mather here. Gove said Ogilvy split with the client, but continues to work on other global brands. Seagram’s roster shops, Grey Advertising and TBWA Chiat/Day, are being considered, as are one or two other unidentified agencies. Billings were not disclosed.

LOS ANGELES–TBWA Chiat/Day last week picked up AirTouch Satellite Services’ Globalstar brand identity account in the U.S., worth an estimated $20-30 million. The agency beat Grey Advertising in New York for the task to develop an ad campaign to launch its Globalstar satellite communications service in the U.S.
Ogilvy Wins Launch of Pond’s New Line
NEW YORK–Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide here has been awarded the estimated $20-25 million ad launch for Unilever’s new Pond’s hand and body care line, sources said. Ogilvy defeated Arnell Group Brand Consulting here. Ogilvy referred calls to the client, which could not be reached. Ogilvy is Pond’s global agency of record.
Cliff Freeman Picks Up Hollywood Video Account
NEW YORK–Cliff Freeman and Partners here has been awarded the estimated $10-20 million creative, media planning and direct marketing account of Hollywood Video. The account had been at Suissa Miller Advertising, which did not defend the account. Western International Media’s Portland, Ore., office handles media buying.
Kohler Shops TV Assignment
CHICAGO–The Kohler Co., Kohler, Wis., is seeking an agency to develop a TV campaign for its kitchen and bathroom fixtures. Grey Advertising, New York, which handles print chores, is among the agencies participating, said Michael Mueller, director of advertising and promotional services at Kohler, which spent $12 million on print ads last year. Kohler’s most recent TV work was from Deutsch, New York, more than a year ago.
Teligent in Negotiations With Doner
NEW YORK–W.B. Doner & Co. in Baltimore is in final negotiations with Vienna, Va.-based Teligent to handle the telecom’s estimated $5-10 million account, sources said. Doner made the final cut along with Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, New York.
