TBWA’s Nissan CD Joins Siltanen/Keehn
LOS ANGELES–Joe Hemp has left his post as a creative director on TBWA\Chiat\Day’s $350 million Nissan account to join former colleagues Rob Siltanen and Pam Keehn at their new agency.
Hemp, 38, who has been at TBWA\C\D’s Playa del Rey, Calif., headquarters for the past four years, will take the position of group creative director at Siltanen/
Keehn in Santa Monica, Calif. An art director, Hemp worked with Siltanen on several award-winning Nissan TV commercials, including “Dream Garage,” “Chair” and “Toys.”
“Joe is a fantastic art director who is adored by clients and co-workers alike,” said Siltanen. “We will utilize his creative abilities on all our business and give him room to fly.
“Should we pick up a car account, that client will be getting the best guy in the business at making
people drool over an automobile,” he added.
Siltanen/Keehn is a contender in the $20 million CarsDirect.com review, according to sources. Siltanen declined to comment on CarsDirect, however, and the Los Angeles client has not disclosed a list of shops it is considering.
Having opened for business just four months ago, Siltanen/Keehn handles more than $75 million in billings, including the $50 million account of Freei.net, a free and anonymous Internet service provider.
The agency’s other new hires include Troy Grande as chief financial officer and Adam Graves as management supervisor.
