DALLAS Johnny Cash will always be remembered for his body of music, but he was also a serviceman, and GSD&M celebrates that achievement in a new print ad for the U.S. Air Force.

The piece by the Austin, Texas-based Omnicom shop showcases a young Cash in uniform. The copy states, “Before he was the man in black, he was the man in blue. We proudly remember and salute Staff Sergeant John R. Cash.”

Cash served in the Air Force from 1950-54.
