NEW YORK WPP Group’s Grey said it has hired its first director of music.

Josh Rabinowitz joins Grey in New York in that role, effective immediately. He was previously executive music producer at Grey sibling Young & Rubicam, also in New York. He joined that shop in 1998, working on accounts such as Dr Pepper, Sony, MetLife and Danone.

In a statement, Grey North America chief creative officer Tim Mellors said, “With music integral to the success of all communications to consumers across all touch points today, it is the right time to create this important position at Grey.
