Google Marketing Exec Departs

SAN FRANCISCO Cindy McCaffrey has left her position as vice president of corporate marketing for Google, the client has confirmed.

Google is looking for a replacement for McCaffrey, said client representative Steve Langdon. He declined to discuss agency relationships. MDC Partners’ Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Miami and independent Eleven in San Francisco have handled recent Google projects.

The client has spent $3 million or less on ads in each of the past two years, per TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.

McCaffrey has not entirely cut her ties to the Mountain View, Calif., company, Langdon said. She is still involved with the Google Foundation, a charity.

McCaffrey could not immediately be reached; her future plans are unknown.

She had been with Google since 1999, and was often credited with helping make the company a household name.

McCaffrey, a former daily newspaper reporter, had previous experience working with technology-focused corporations such as Apple Computer and E*Trade.
