Lush hillsides, revolving windmill arms and azippy jingle converge in a new upbeat campaign for Green Mountain Energy.

The 60- and 30-second television spots are the first to appear from Temerlin McClain, which took over the $2 million account last year from The Zimmerman Agency in Tallahassee, Fla.

Both commercials use a matter-of-fact spokeswoman to pitch the wind-generated electricity service. Over a beauty shot of wind turbines spinning in the breeze, she states that “you can prevent as much carbon dioxide as your car makes in 22,000 miles.” The musical accompaniment celebrates the fact that “it’s a beautiful day.”

“Simple, informative, straightforward and action oriented” is how Green Mountain’s vice president of marketing services, Tom Bracken, described the new work.

The TV ads launched in the Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston markets last week. The campaign by the Irving, Texas, agency will also include direct mail, print and online components.
