Georgia Tourism Invites Agencies to Log On

ATLANTA The Georgia Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism is conducting an account review, the client confirmed.

The state said it is looking for an agency to develop integrated advertising and promotions for the operating units of the department, including the divisions of business recruitment and expansions, film and video production, tourism, international trade and small business.

Atlanta-based Match Inc. is the incumbent and is expected to defend. The shop was awarded the $5 million account in 2001. Executives at Match were unavailable for comment.

The majority of the work in the past has shifted from tourism efforts to print and collateral for the economic development and international trade divisions, sources said.

The request for proposal is available online at Interested parties are required to register to access the RFP.

The RFP states that the client will consider agencies or groups of shops with previous tourism marketing experience. It also states that candidates must have been in business for more than three years. Proposals are due April 12, and the client plans to complete the review in June.
