Foster Farms Initiates Creative Review

LOS ANGELES Foster Farms is launching a review for the creative portion of its $7-10 million account, said Select Resources International, the consultancy leading the review.

Omnicom’s Goodby, Silverstein & Partners has handled the account since 1993. The shop is participating in the review, according to SRI in Santa Monica, Calif. Goodby officials could not immediately be reached. Media, handled by Havas’ Media Planning Group in Los Angeles, is unaffected.

Requests for proposal are expected to go out later today. The Livingston, Calif., poultry producer, which markets its products in California, Oregon and Washington, is seeking an agency on the West Coast, with a preference for Northern California, the consultant said.

The review is expected to be completed by late May or early June.

Goodby’s work for the client has included TV spots featuring talking chickens that unsuccessfully try to pass themselves off as Foster Farms poultry. Foster Farms has used the characters since 1993.
