The contenders are incumbent Publicis & Hal Riney, San Francisco; Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco; McCann-Erickson, Troy, Mich., and New York; D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, Troy and New York and Wieden + Kennedy, Portland.
