LOS ANGELES Interpublic Group’s Foote Cone & Belding has laid off about a half-dozen San Francisco staffers, an agency representative confirmed. The cuts reduced the shop’s workforce by approximately 3 percent, to 170 employees.

“What we’re doing is aligning our staffing as we anticipate future needs,” said FCB representative Bill Haney.

Additionally, Kathryn Lewis, who joined FCB in 2001 as executive vice president of operations, has resigned. It could not immediately be determined what her future plans are.
