Family Bargain Splits Creative, Media

Retail chain Family Bargain Corp. has split creative and media duties on its $9 million account between two agencies, after a review of Southern California shops.
Heil-Brice Retail Advertising in Newport Beach has been selected to handle the creative portion of the account, while Los Angeles incumbent Asher & Partners has retained the media planning and buying portion, according to Andrew Rosenberg, Family Bargain’s senior vice president of marketing.
Heil-Brice beat out four other contenders for the creative work: DiZinno Thompson Integrated Marketing Solutions and Think Tank, both in San Diego; and WiseGuys and Pasadena Advertising, both in Pasadena.
