Eos Picks MediaCom

NEW YORK Eos Airlines has awarded media planning and buying chores to WPP Group’s MediaCom without a review, the client has confirmed.

Until August, Interpublic Group’s Mullen in Wenham, Mass., had handled both creative and media duties for the client, which was founded in 2005 as a premium-class carrier. Creative duties are currently unassigned. Mullen introduced its first ads for Eos in the spring. That effort portrayed Eos’ flights as “Uncrowded. Uncompromising.”

Pardis Brenner, senior partner and group account director at MediaCom in New York, will lead the Eos business.

Eos spent $1.5 million in U.S. media through July 2007 after spending $5 million last year, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.

Adam Komack, chief lifestyle officer at Eos, in a statement cited MediaCom’s “proven ability to reach affluent business and leisure consumers in targeted, innovative and motivating ways. We were especially impressed by MediaCom’s demonstration of how to apply media strategies and tactics to achieve our specific business goals.”

Eos flies 757s outfitted with “suites” for 48 travelers. The airline currently offers 44 flights per week between New York and London, with plans to expand service to other cities in 2008.
