NEW YORK An electrical contractor that worked on Young & Rubicam’s midtown New York headquarters for four years has accused the WPP Group shop of breach of contract and fraud in a lawsuit that seeks $3.1 million in monetary and punitive damages, according to court papers.

The suit, which was filed last month in state Supreme Court in New York, charges that Y&R did not pay Shorr Electrical Contracting of Queens, N.Y., for maintenance and installation projects completed between 1999 and 2003.
