J. Walter Thompson group creative director Jeff York uses his skill at caricature to help support his favorite charity.

For the past four years, York has been selling posters featuring caricatures of actors from movies of the previous year during the Academy Awards season for $10. Last year he raised $500 and this year he hopes to double that. He sends the proceeds to the American Film Institute, which promotes film preservation.

“It’s a great cause and I enjoy doing it,” York said.

Most of the posters are sold at the agency, where they are quickly hung in offices and work stations.

In his 14 years at JWT he has drawn caricatures of more than 400 agency employees, which grace the halls of the shop’s Chicago office.
