DMG Buys Ad:Tech Trade-Show Group

BOSTON DMG World Media said it has acquired Ad:Tech, a trade exhibitions company, from JD Events in Trumbull, Conn.

Focusing on interactive marketing, Ad:Tech’s annual conferences include events held in San Francisco, Chicago and New York, as well as new shows to be launched in London and Shanghai, China, in 2005. The next Ad:Tech event is scheduled for April 25-27, 2005 at the San Francisco Marriott.

“This is an important first step in establishing our new technology-focused business and Ad:Tech is the crown jewel in the space. We bring international reach and expertise in exhibition management to this leading edge product so we are confident that we can and will realize its full potential,” said Mike Cooke, CEO of DMG, in a statement. DMG is a unit of London-based Daily Mail & General Trust, a U.K. media company and publisher of the Daily Mail newspaper.

Financial terms of the Ad:Tech deal were not disclosed.

Ad:Tech will continue under its current management team, led by CEO Joel Davis, and will be based in San Francisco.
