It looks like most of Disney’s $1 billion media assignment that went into review late last year will stay within the Publicis holding company, per sources.
The incumbent Publicis’ Starcom did not defend, but the holding company’s media management arm VivaKi assembled a group-wide team (excluding Zenith, which handles Fox) to pitch the business.
Sources said the Publicis unit has been selected to handle the movie studio work, along with the Disney home video and gaming divisions.
Meanwhile, Carat has been selected for the client’s theme park division, sources said. Other contenders included the Omnicom Media Group and WPP’s Mindshare.
The agencies declined to comment. Disney officials couldn’t immediately be reached.
