Direct Hitter Returns

Elmhorst Is Back At Anderson Advertising
DALLAS–After developing Anderson Advertising’s food service marketing and database division earlier this decade, Brad Elmhorst is returning to the San Antonio shop to head that department again in a new senior level post.
Elmhorst, who left to work for Anderson client Pace Foods of San Antonio the past three years, was welcomed back as senior vice president. His duties will include direction of the Direct Hit research and database unit he helped build in his first stint.
“It’s going to be a combination of executive management of the food service group and overseeing the Direct Hit area,” said Elmhorst, who was Anderson’s vice president of food service from 1990-95. “I’ll also be involved in taking a look at new business.”
“He has an intimate knowledge of the working chain in food service,” said Anderson executive vice president and account supervisor Julius Germano.
Since 1995, food service duties have been handled by director Jim Woods, who will retain his post under Elmhorst, according to Germano. Woods is a former marketing official with Kraft Food Service.
While at Pace, Elm-horst helped convert the company’s marketing program into a direct sales force and developed a distributor program following its acquisition by Campbell Soup Co. He also helped expand the firm’s picante sauce line into the private label arena.
Besides Pace, Anderson’s food service clients include Pioneer Flour Mills, Chinet paper products and Schwan’s packaged foods.
