Design Exec Moves to Chicago

CHICAGO Bridgewater Design founder Donna Skupien moves to Chicago to lead creative following the merger with Group Four.

Chicago-based design and marketing agency Bridgewater merged with Group Four, which specializes in packaging and product design.

Skupien, who started Bridgewater 12 years ago, moves to Group Four’s Chicago office as creative director, bringing along four staffers. She reports to Frank von Holzhausen, president of Group Four at its Avon, Conn., headquarters.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The decision to merge came from Skupien’s desire to become part of a larger company and Group Four’s plan to expand its Chicago presence, Skupien said.

The 50-person shop’s offerings include corporate identity, packaging and Web site design services. Clients include Skil-Bosch, Allstate, Mead Johnson Nutriceuticals, Boise Cascade, Georgia-Pacific and Culligan.
