LOS ANGELES Copywriter Ben Purcell and art director Simon Tuplin, associate creative directors recently teamed on the Kia Motors America account, said they have been promoted to creative directors at independent davidandgoliath.

“We don’t see our role changing,” said Purcell, “other than we will be mentoring some of the other creatives. [Chairman and CCO] David [Angelo] wants us to work on accounts, still continue to lead by example. We want to help the agency.”

Purcell said he sees the Los Angeles agency as “preparing for a rebirth of sorts, with Kia as the focus.”
