Creative Team Moves Up at TBWA\C\D

LOS ANGELES TBWA\Chiat\Day said it has promoted copywriter Gary Pascoe and art director John Payne to creative directors.

Pascoe, 35, and Payne, 37, have been a creative team at the Playa del Rey, Calif., agency since 1997. They report to executive creative director Rob Schwartz.

“They’ve been doing excellent work in the agency for about six years now,” Schwartz said. “They’ve done a lot of good stuff on Nissan, they helped engineer the Pennzoil win and they’ve done terrific work for Playstation.”

In addition, Payne and Pascoe created the Levi’s outdoor campaign that featured the line, “Our models can beat up your models,” worked on the Taco Bell Chihuahua campaign and have notched two Cannes Lions. Prior to joining TBWA\C\D, the duo worked at The Richards Group in Dallas.

Payne and Pascoe will now lead creative on the $30 million Pennzoil account, which TBWA\C\D won earlier this month, as well as on Whiskas, said Schwartz.

TBWA\C\D now has nine creative directors in Playa del Rey.
