To the chagrin of some shoppers, a sweater that tried to capitalize on holiday cheer with a pun—OCD for "Obsessive Christmas Disorder" instead of "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder"—is still being sold online and in stores at Target.
Miffed by what they're calling a lack of empathy for people who suffer from the disease, Twitter users have asked the company "not to sell [the] illness as a fashion statement," as one consumer put it.
Target is one of a number of retailers carrying products with the slogan this season.
"We never want to disappoint our guests, and we apologize for any discomfort," said a spokesman for the company in a statement.
