Cobb Energy Picks Blue Sky

ATLANTA Blue Sky Agency here has won a review for the advertising account of Cobb Energy, the shop said.

The Atlanta-based company considered at least three shops before awarding the account. The incumbent, Meisner Direct of Atlanta, defended. The independent shop had held the account, its largest, for the past five years.

Cobb Energy, a division of Cobb Electric Membership Corp, offers residential and commercial products to customers of Cobb EMC, but wants to expand its market throughout the metro Atlanta area. Cobb Energy’s offerings include natural gas, telephone and Internet service, tree trimming and removal, and home security systems.

The company is raising its local profile with a $20 million deal for the naming rights of a new performing arts center being built in Cobb County, a northern suburb of Atlanta. The new ad agency will help the company build its brand recognition before the opening of the center in the summer of 2007 with broadcast, print and outdoor advertising. Previously, Cobb Energy advertised through direct mail.

Billings were not disclosed.
