Cliff Freeman Creatives Follow Silver to Saatchi

NEW YORK A junior creative team is following Eric Silver from independent Cliff Freeman and Partners to Publicis Groupe’s Saatchi & Saatchi, the latter agency confirmed.

Ari Weiss and Aaron Adler worked in Silver’s group on the estimated $40 million Fox Sports Net account for the past year at Cliff Freeman in New York. Weiss, a copywriter, and Adler, an art director, left Cliff Freeman on Thursday, sources said. At Saatchi, they will initially work on new business, said Scott Gilbert, a managing partner in Saatchi’s New York office.

Silver joined Saatchi earlier this week as executive vice president, group creative director.

Sources said the Fox Sports Net advertising account could also follow Silver to Saatchi or be consolidated at Omnicom’s TBWA\Chiat\Day in Playa del Rey, Calif.

Neal Tiles, executive vice president of marketing at the cable channel, declined to comment. Cliff Freeman could not immediately be reached.

Cliff Freeman and Partners is in the midst of defending the creative portion of the estimated $25 million Quizno’s account. Its remaining clients include Value City, DSW, Mohegan Sun and Hollywood Video. Sources said its Ben & Jerry’s account is expected to follow three other executives who resigned this month to form an agency called Amalgamated in New York.

Calls to that client were not immediately returned. Amalgamated executives could not be reached.
