Chattem Rewards Empower’s Initiative

CHICAGO Empower MediaMarketing has been selected to handle media planning and buying for Chattem’s $5 million pHisoderm brand without a review.

The Chattanooga, Tenn., company’s pHisoderm line includes acne and facial wash products. Chattem spent $5 million advertising pHisoderm in 2002, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.

The Johnson Group in Chattanooga handles creative development and production for pHisoderm.

The Cincinnati shop picked up the account through “cold calls” to the client, an agency representative said. North Castle Partners in Stamford, Conn., previously handled the client’s media.
