Carat Taps Doug Ray to Head P&G Account

Carat has tapped Doug Ray to lead the agency’s Procter & Gamble account as executive vp, the media shop announced Monday (Oct. 27). He replaces Martin Cass, who was promoted last week to president of Carat U.S.

Ray has 16 years of experience in advertising, branding, media and planning working for several Fortune 500 companies and most recently serving senior vp, group director, communications planning for Carat. In his new position, Ray will also serve as head of communications plan for P & G, directing a team of communications specialists charged with the exploration of consumer receptivity.

“Doug has been a leader within our communications planning practice and has been responsible for creating holistic strategies that have built our clients’ business. He has been a strong partner for P & G, helping them drive outstanding campaigns with robust results year-after-year since joining Carat in 2004,” Cass said.

Prior to Carat, Ray was managing partner at DiMassimo Brand Advertising, where he launched the agency’s integrated communications group. He began his career with Ammirati & Puris in 1992.
