Janet Bustin, a 15-year veteran of DDB Dallas, has been named managing director of the 160-person agency.

Bustin replaces Jake Schroepfer, president and chief executive officer, who has resigned.

The move, sources said, is part of a reorganization at a shop that has seen a significant decline in billings (it recently lost $25-30 million in American Airlines’ international marketing duties) and few account wins.

Bustin, formerly managing partner, will be joined by Steve Sweitzer, who fills the vacant executive creative director’s post.

“This new leadership team will provide better ideas that net better results for our clients and attract new client partners and creative talent,” said Dick Rogers, president of DDB North America.

At DDB Dallas, Bus-tin has been responsible for both operations and clients, ranging from packaged-goods brands like McIlhenny’s Tabasco Sauce to retail accounts such as J.C.
