Arnold Communications and Mullen were big winners at the 2000 International Andy Awards sponsored by the Advertising Club of New York.
In all, Arnold claimed 10 prizes, including three in the television category for Volkswagen of America. Arnold also won in the Internet advertising category for VW.
Arnold’s performance was third overall, bested only by The Martin Agency of Richmond, Va., which walked off with 15 Andys.
DDB Chicago secured best of show and $50,000 for its Bud Light “Heroes” radio campaign.
Mullen’s performance was particularly impressive because it won in three different categories for three different clients. The Wenham, Mass. shop won Andys in the categories of Television for Monster.com, Magazines for L.L. Bean and Promotional Material for Swiss Army Brands.
The Andys bills itself as the world’s toughest show and proceeds from the event are given to educational programs for students of advertising.
