NEW YORK Black & Decker has retained its creative incumbent, Interpublic Group’s McCann-Erickson, the client said.

The New York agency has handled creative on the estimated $15 million account since the 1980s. McCann successfully defended the business after presentations this week that included Omnicom Group’s TBWA\Chiat\Day in New York and OutLoud, a small Baltimore boutique, sources said.

The disposition of media planning and buying, handled by Universal McCann, is still being decided, the Towson, Md.,
