BBFM Wins Breast Cancer 3-Day Account

LOS ANGELES The National Philanthropic Trust has awarded its Breast Cancer 3-Day account to BBFM following a review, the shop said.

BBFM will handle creative and media planning for NPT Breast Cancer 3-Day, a national series of events to help fund breast cancer research and patient support programs. The Seattle-based agency will handle the account from its three-person Los Angeles office, which was established in August 2003. BBFM has partnered with independent Horizon Media in Los Angeles for media buying.

The client in Jenkintown, Pa., previously worked with CauseForce in Hollywood, Calif., and Milner Butcher Media Group in Los Angeles. There were four other undisclosed finalists in the review. Billings are $3-4 million, the client said.

BBFM will create TV, radio, out-of-home and print ads, as well as collateral material. Ads will run in the Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Phoenix, San Diego and San Francisco markets. Breast Cancer 3-Day events will take place this year from late July through October.

“We have been especially impressed with BBFM’s quick start-up, clearly demonstrated understanding of our needs and excellent creative work in responding to those needs, ” said Howard Sitron, vice president and COO of the NPT Breast Cancer 3-Day, in a statement.

This is the Los Angeles office’s first retainer client, as well as its first broadcast client. The shop also handles projects for City National Bank, the Beverly Center and Voluntary Planning Administrators, according to Liza Pigram, managing partner and director of client services at BBFM.
